Ok, it kinda bugs me when I'm eating and there's a person sitting there watching me eat when they're not eating anything at all. They're just sitting there... watching... me... eat. It irritates the hell out of me. I always thought it was bad manners to do that.

If it was a guy, I'd look him dead in the eye and say, "Do you mind? I'm eating." If he doesn't get the message: "Hey, I'm eating and it bugs me that you're watching me. Fuck off. Get lost." Simple, easy, to the point.

But it's always a woman that does it... watching me eat while they're sitting there licking their lips, pretending like they don't want anything. When you call them out and ask if they would like something, they go, "Oh no!!! I'm fine!!!! You go ahead. I just like to watch you eat!"

I always thought that it was rude to show up and sit down at a table and just watch whoever was there eating and not get something to eat for yourself. That's why I never do it. If I see or am told somebody's eating and I have no intent or invitation to join the meal, I say "Ok, see ya later" and leave. I just think it's the way things should be. I think it's good manners.

Am I completely off my rocker for feeling this way, or do any of you agree with me?

I have no problem with confidence. I have a problem with jerkoffs sitting there doing nothing but staring at me while I eat.

i'm a firm believer in that if your not eating then you have no reason to be at my table! i'f you want to talk then wait till i've finished, otherwise GTFO!!

also im too focused on what i'm eating to be able to converse back, and that can land me in all sorts of trouble, not knowing what i just agreed too!?

I don't like it either... it's a pretty harmless peeve but I get where you're coming from.

People don't even look you in the eye when you're eating/talking to them either.... they stare at your fuggin' food Rubs me the wrong way, makes you feel rude regardless of where and when you're eating which is bothersome.

If I'm ever with someone at a restaurant and they're eating I'll at least get a coffee just to have something to occupy me

Hmm is interesting, never really noticed people looking at my food whilst I was eating, but I d say its rather distracting and offputting. Shows how little I go out to restaurants though.

the worst is when it's an employee i was at a restaurant the other day and i guess it was the end of this waitress's shift. She was sitting in a booth rolling silverware but every time i looked up she was staring at us it was weird.
